Frequently Asked Questions About PCB Assembly in India

We get asked a lot of the same questions by OEMs and buyers who are new to working with a PCB assembly company in India. Here are honest, detailed answers. If your question is not here, email us at info@rionyx.com.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

  • What is your minimum order quantity for PCB assembly?
Our minimum order quantity for PCB assembly is 1,000 boards per production run. Bharat Tech EMS is a high-volume PCB assembly specialist in India — our entire operation is calibrated for large batches, not one-off prototype orders. If your requirement is below 1,000 pieces, we are not the right partner and we will tell you that honestly.
  • What types of PCB assembly services do you offer?
We offer turnkey PCB assembly, consigned PCB assembly, SMT (Surface Mount Technology) assembly, through-hole (THT) assembly, mixed-technology assembly, and box build / system integration assembly. We also provide DFM review, component programming, conformal coating, and full testing and inspection as part of or alongside our assembly services.
  • Do you serve both domestic Indian clients and international buyers?
Yes. Bharat Tech EMS provides PCB assembly services to Indian OEMs and manufacturers across India, and we export PCB assemblies internationally to buyers in the USA, UK, Germany, UAE, Singapore, and other countries. Our documentation, pricing, and logistics are set up for both markets.
  • What industries do you specialise in?
We focus on six key sectors: automotive and EV electronics, industrial automation and control, telecom and 5G networking, solar and renewable energy, medical electronics, and consumer electronics and white goods. These are all sectors with high-volume, constant demand for PCB assembly — which matches our production model perfectly.

TECHNICAL QUESTIONS

  • What SMT component sizes can you handle?
Our SMT pick-and-place equipment handles components from 0201 (0.6mm × 0.3mm) and above as standard. We can handle 01005 (0.4mm × 0.2mm) components on request. We assemble BGA, QFN, QFP, LGA, CSP, and all standard and fine-pitch IC packages.
  • Do you support multilayer PCB assembly?
Yes. We assemble boards from single layer (1L) to 24-layer multilayer PCBs. We also handle HDI (High Density Interconnect) PCBs, flex PCBs, rigid-flex PCBs, and MCPCB (Metal Core PCBs) for thermal management applications.
  • Do you offer lead-free RoHS compliant PCB assembly?
Yes. Lead-free, RoHS 2.0 compliant PCB assembly using SAC305 solder is our standard process. We also offer standard tin-lead (SnPb) leaded assembly for applications where it is required. Both solder processes are available and properly documented.
  • What testing do you perform on every order?
Our standard quality process includes SPI (Solder Paste Inspection), AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) on 100% of boards post-reflow, X-Ray inspection for BGA assemblies, IPC-A-610 visual inspection, ICT (In-Circuit Testing) where fixtures are available, and functional testing. Test scope is agreed at the quotation stage and documented in the quality plan.
  • What is DFM review and why do you require it?
DFM stands for Design for Manufacturability. It is a review of your PCB design against our manufacturing process parameters — checking clearances, pad geometry, stencil aperture ratios, component orientation, via-in-pad structures, and more. We require DFM for every new product because it catches issues before production that are far cheaper to fix at design stage than after boards are assembled.

COMMERCIAL QUESTIONS

  • What is your typical PCB assembly lead time in India?
For a standard turnkey PCB assembly order where components are available, our lead time is 15–25 working days from order confirmation. For orders with long-lead-time components, lead time is communicated at the quotation stage. Rush PCB assembly service is available for an additional charge — contact us to check availability.
  • How do you ensure components are genuine and not counterfeit?
We source 100% of components from authorised distributors — Digi-Key, Mouser, Arrow, Avnet, and regional authorised channels. We do not source from grey market suppliers or unverified brokers. Every component is verified for authenticity, date code, and lot code on arrival. Our traceability system records which component lot went into which boards.
  • Do you sign NDAs?
Yes, absolutely. All client design files, BOMs, specifications, and business information are treated as strictly confidential. We are happy to sign a mutual NDA before any detailed technical exchange. Our team does not share client IP or designs with any third party.
  • Can we visit your PCB assembly facility in Gujarat?
Yes, factory visits and supplier audits are always welcome. Seeing our SMT lines, inspection equipment, and quality processes firsthand is the best way to evaluate us. Contact us to schedule your visit — we will arrange a proper facility tour.
  • What payment terms do you offer?
For domestic Indian clients, we work on advance + delivery payment terms, moving to credit terms for established relationships. For international buyers, we work on T/T (telegraphic transfer / wire transfer) in USD, EUR, or GBP. Payment terms are discussed and agreed at the quotation stage.
  • What export documentation do you provide?
For every international shipment, we provide: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, certificate of conformance, test reports, RoHS compliance declaration, REACH compliance declaration, and full airway bill or bill of lading documentation.
